MANILA, Philippines - Ayala-led Globe Telecom Inc. has further expanded its footprint in Europe after it established its third retail office in the region and its eighth establishment worldwide.
Gil Genio, chief operations officer and executive vice president for international and business markets of Globe, said the company has tied up with Madrid-based Ingenium Outsourcing Services S.L.U. (IOS) to establish Globetel Internacional European Espana S.L. (Globetel Espana).
“We are delighted to have IOS as our partner in running our operations in Spain, an important market for Globe as we aim to provide the best connectivity offers to Filipinos overseas. We are pleased to introduce the Globe brand of service to our countrymen in Spain , making it more affordable to keep in touch with their loved ones back in the Philippines,†Genio said.
Genio said Globetel Espana is poised to launch telecoms services in Spain within the year.
Spain became the third country in Europe where Globe would have retail presence after the United Kingdom and Italy and the eighth country in the world after the United States, Singapore, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and Canada.
Globe senior vice president for international business Rizza Maniego-Eala said Globetel Espana would handle the offering of various telecommunications services such as voice, short messaging system (SMS), load top-up, and mobile data in Spain.
