MANILA, Philippines - Spanish dietetics firm Naturhouse is set to expand its presence in Asia with the opening of its first shop in the Philippines this month.
According to Naturhouse Philippines president Jon Rocha, the company is bullish on the Philippine market, citing a growing number of people who want to have a healthy lifestyle.
“Filipinos have been very health conscious the past few years and we took note of this in our preparations,†he said.
Naturhouse expects potential business in the Philippines to reach more than € 2 million in the coming years as it slowly expands its presence here.
“We will not only introduce a way of living healthy to the Philippine market, but also create jobs in the process,†Rocha said.
The firm has engaged in dietetics or applying nutritional principles to the planning and preparation of food and regulation of the diet in relation to both health and disease, would provide programs geared toward the promotion of healthy living among Filipinos.
Naturhouse head nutritionist Melody Melo said the firm would provide specific nutritional guidelines that have been developed by dietary professionals who provide advice along with details on how to lose weight and address issues like stress, cellulite, among others.
The entry of Naturhouse to the Philippine market is timely given an increase in cases of non-communicable or chronic diseases.
According to the Department of Health, more than 44 million Filipinos either suffer from obesity, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer, and chronic respiratory diseases.
Naturhouse is owned by Spain’s leading corporation in the dietetics and nutrition sector Kiluva Group.
Naturhouse currently has 2,000 establishments around the world.
