China’s Gionee bullish on Phl mobile market

MANILA, Philippines - Top mobile phone manufacturer Gionee Communication Equipment Co. Ltd. of China has launched its flagship smartphone Elife E6 in the Philippines to further consolidate and strengthen its presence in Asia.

Company officials said the Philippines is a viable market for Gionee’s smartphone Elife E6, given the increasing number of Filipinos who join social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

Based on a study conducted by GfK, the Philippines is one of the fastest-growing markets for smartphones in Southeast Asia. The research firm noted that about 5.75 million smartphones were sold in the Philippines from April 2012 to March 2013. The country ranked fourth in the region in terms of sales volume.

Gionee Mobile head Katrin Salanga- Gregorio assured that “quality is experienced in every Gionee Elife E6 handset, the features of which are products of the company’s well-funded research and development and which the company continues to update, upgrade and innovate.”

Gionee’s Elife E6 is a smartphone which allows consumers to “do more with less.” The smartphone is packed with superior features that do not compromise quality despite its affordability.

The Elife smartphone is powered by Quad Core 1.5-GHz CPU which can operate multiple applications, games, and videos without delay. The smartphone includes a 32-gigabyte (GB) ROM which allows users to store a large volume of pictures, videos, and songs.

Elife EG’s 2-GB RAM can support high quality videos and easily operates large 3D images.

The Gionee smartphone also comes with numerous apps and useful features such as Motion Sensing Technology and Gesture Control Technology.

Gregorio said busy executives will delight in Elife E6’s Motion Sensing Technology as they don’t have to tinker with their phone if they need to answer it or refuse a call while in the middle of a meeting.

“The Motion Sensing Pickup, for instance, allows users to answer calls automatically by raising the phone to their ears.  With the Motion Sensing Alarm, all they need to do is flip the phone so it would go into snooze mode,” she explained.

Memo Express, which carries Gionee mobile phones in all its stores nationwide, is one of the valued supporters of the newest and high quality mobile phone brand in the country.

Gionee is one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers in China. Its facility is capable of churning out more than 40 million handsets a year.

It has research and development centers several locations including Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, and has spent 1 million renminbi (RMB) for its 500-acre industrial park.

Gionee embarked on its international expansion effort in 2011. Its products are currently being sold in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Russia, the Middle East, and Africa among others.

Gregorio added their company is now setting up dealerships all over the Philippines.
