Halal Showcase set in KL

MANILA, Philippines - The Malaysia External Trade Development Corp. (Matrade) is set to kick off the 10th Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2013) on April 3-6 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) in Malaysia.

MIHAS, an annual trade fair now on its 10th year, has become an important platform for the promotion of world-class Halal products and services globally for almost a decade now.

With the theme “Empowering the Global Halal Marke,” MIHAS 2013 plans to continue serving as the best entry point to penetrate into the Muslim market.

Halal certified and compliant products and services featured in MIHAS 2013 are focused on 1. Halal consumables (food and beverages, seafood, confectionery, pharmaceuticals and etc.); 2. Non-food products (perfumery, toiletries, cosmetics, personal and body care); 3. Services (Halal certification, Islamic financial, banking and takaful).

MIHAS is a premier event not limited to the ASEAN region alone, but is also supported internationally with international pavilions from countries across the globe.

MIHAS has the extra edge to break through barriers to enter young developing markets committed to serve the needs of the Halal consumer and to reach a quality-conscious generation seeking quality Halal food products.

This year, the Philippines will be represented by 13 companies who are interested to source Malaysian Halal to meet the growing interest in the Philippine Halal market.

Visited by more than 16,000 trade visitors in MIHAS 2012, MIHAS 2013 is the focal point for Halal industry stakeholders to see wide-ranging product and services selection, outstanding networking and business matching program, thought-provoking trade dialogues and seminars, activities by exhibitors as well as product testing and showcases.

Every year since its inception, MIHAS has hosts over 500 buyers and matches them with participants of MIHAS from Malaysia. MIHAS 2012 alone has resulted in total immediate and negotiated sales of over RM514.84 million.

MIHAS is hosted by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), and organised by Matrade.
