MANILA, Philippines - Communities General Santos Inc., a unit of Vista Land and Lifescapes, Inc., is seeking tax perks from the government for a housing project.
In a published notice, the Board of Investments (BOI) said the firm is applying for registration with the BOI as an expanding developer of low-cost mass housing project (Camella General Santos-Expansion) on a non-pioneer status.
The project is located at Brgy. San Isidro in General Santos City. It has a capacity of 280 low-cost mass housing units.
The firm could be exempted from payment of income taxes should its application be approved by the BOI.
The government is offering incentives to companies engaged in activities being promoted under the investment promotions blueprint, the Investment Priorities Plan (IPP).
The extent of entitlement of incentives is based on the project’s net value added, job generation, multiplier effect and measured capacity.
Mass housing is one of the preferred activities that qualifies for incentives under the 2012 IPP.
