SEC’s revised Code of Corporate Governance

MANILA, Philippines - The Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP) is holding a special seminar entitled “SEC’s Revised Code of Corporate Governance” scheduled on November 27, 2012 at Edsa Shangri-La, Mandaluyong City.

This program is aimed at helping corporations and board directors who have yet to comply with the mandatory provisions of the SEC’s revised Code of Corporate Governance that took effect on July 15, 2009. We now know that it is compulsory for all corporations to follow the revised code as the SEC now penalizes businesses and makes directors accountable for any violation of its provisions. With a stricter regulatory environment imposed by the government, it is best practice that all companies must be prepared for any compliance check by the authorities.  For instance, Board directors or those who want to be appointed to a board seat of a public or publicly-listed company are required to attend a corporate governance program and are expected to know about the changes in the revised code for them to continue or to hold a position in a corporation.

This one-day special seminar includes updates, SEC circulars and important rulings companies all need to know. It is a program that will also teach how to implement corporate governance successfully in organizations. Attend and attain board effectiveness with better governance!  For more details and other seminars including SEC revised Rules on Financial Reporting, visit www.cgbp.org.
