San Marino ties up with Medicard

MANILA, Philippines -  San Marino, noted for its corned tuna, and MediCard, one of the leading health maintenance organization (HMO), join hands in helping Filipinos to have healthy hearts by making specific heart-related tests like cholesterol count and ECG more affordable.

One may now get cholesterol count for only P50 (regular price is P150) and undergo the ECG test for only P200 (regular price is P400).

Purchase any specially-marked San Marino Corned Tuna, San Marino Chili Corned Tuna, and San Marino Tuna Paella in supermarkets and groceries in Metro Manila and Southern Luzon. Peel off the discount sticker from the can and present this together with the receipt of purchase at any Medicard clinic in Metro Manila, Laguna, and Cavite to avail the discount.

Doctors say that side by side with undergoing tests and check-ups, eating foods rich in Omega-3 is essential in keeping one’s heart healthy.

San Marino Corned Tuna has also less oil than the usual tuna flakes in oil products, and has no preservatives.

“We are happy that San Marino teams up with MediCard in promoting healthy hearts among Filipinos. As heart disease is the leading cause of death in the country, we would not want to give anyone reasons not to monitor their heart health as cholesterol count and ECG tests are now made affordable,” says Jonathan Bendicion, San Marino AVP for Marketing.

With over 14,000 highly-skilled physicians and health professionals in over 600 hospitals and clinics nationwide, MediCard provides a comprehensive health care program, which includes emergency care, hospital confinement, preventive health care, dental care and out-patient consultation services.
