MANILA, Philippines - Heavy duty tractors and equipment distributor Monark Equipment Corp. Philippines said that the Philippine mining boom enjoyed in the past few years was a big boon to its robust sales growth in 2011.
Edmidio “Boy” Ramos, Monark Philippines general manager, said they are looking at a 28-percent sales growth for 2011 of about P5.20 billion, from the P4.05 billion in sales they posted in 2010.
The impressive sales growth, he said, was attributed to steady improvement in all their product and services sales categories, but he noted that a key growth driver was in the sales of heavy equipment used in mining activities.
