BDO cited anew by foreign groups

MANILA, Philippines - Various international institutions have again cited BDO Unibank Inc. (BDO) for its exemplary performance, a testament to the bank’s continued efforts in giving customers the best products and services.

Finance Asia, one of the region’s leading financial publishing companies, named BDO as the Philippines’ Best Bank and its wholly owned subsidiary BDO Capital and Investment Corp. as the Best Investment Bank in its Country Awards 2011. Finance Asia underscored BDO’s display of “faster growth and a stronger earnings rebound than its peers during the past 12 months. But, more important, it continues to win customers with its combined capabilities in corporate and investment banking, and its leadership in consumer banking and wealth management”.

For its part, Trade Finance Magazine recognized BDO as the Best Philippine Trade Bank in its Awards for Excellence 2011. The Awards for Excellence is an annual event that is based on a readers’ poll. Trade Finance Magazine is Euromoney publications’ flagship international trade, export, commodity, and supply chain finance publication.

BDO also scored another award from Hong Kong-based Corporate Governance Asia in the recently held Corporate Governance Asia Annual Recognition Awards 2011. The award signifies the bank’s continuing commitment to the development of corporate governance in Asia. At the same time, BDO chairman Teresita Sy-Coson was among Asia’s business leaders recognized in the Asian Corporate Director Recognition Awards 2011. Corporate Governance Asia is considered as the region’s most authoritative journal on corporate governance.
