MANILA, Philippines - The Golden Treasure Skills Development Program will conduct a two-day seminar on laundry shop operation at the College of Social Work andCommunity Development Magsaysay Ave., cor. Ylanan St., University of the Philippines, Diliman Quezon City on March 12 and 13, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The seminar will give participants basic information on getting started on the business, sustaining operations, and possibly branching out.
Additional topics to be discussed are the basic types of services, the set-up of a laundry shop, equipment to use, workflows, pre-opening factors, marketing strategies, staffing, and organization. Specific procedures on dry cleaning, including a demonstration on how to dry-clean, iron, a barong tagalog, gowns, etc. and how to aromatize the laundry will also be discussed.
There will also be an actual demonstration on how to make basic cleaning products use for laundry such as powder soap, fabric softener and liquid bleach.
Each participant will be given a certificate of training right after the seminar. Lunch and snacks will be served and all the materials will be provided including handouts.
