MANILA, Philippines -Encouraged and emboldened by the doubling of its sales in 2010, restaurant chain Freska Ilonggo Seafood and Inasal now targets to open 10 to 15 new stores this year to help the company achieve a 15-percent growth for 2011.
Freska Group president Mark Sarabia Gorriceta said most of the new outlets will be along their “quick serve” restaurant concept, while the rest will fall under their food stall concept category.
“2010 was a banner year for Freska. We focused on developing our ‘quick serve’ dining restaurants and opened five such branches in 2010. Accumulated gross revenue for the entire Freska Group doubled compared to the previous year as a result of this expansion,” Gorriceta disclosed.
Through an aggressive marketing and information blitz, he said they hope to fully consolidate and firmly establish the Freska corporate brand this year. However, he said Freska will not venture overseas yet and will instead focus its efforts and resources on domestic expansion and the addition of new offerings to further upgrade and expand its product lineup.
“Part of our plans for this year is to come up with new and unique products for our customers on a bi-monthly basis. As part of that plan, we will utilize the expertise of our chef, Pauline Gorriceta-Banusing, to infuse flavors of the Southern regions and make sure we consistently substantiate our chosen identity as the home of truly authentic Ilonggo dishes,” he stressed.
Gorriceta explained that with the inflation and increasing operating costs, the challenge is to keep their prices at affordable levels, which, at the moment, are decidedly lower than their competitors.
“For our non- core items, we have projected a very minimal increase in prices to offset rising costs. But we plan to increase just yet the prices of the core products in our line up to stay competitive,” he added.
Freska Ilonggo Seafood and Inasal serves a complete product range of mouth-watering favorites such as Inihaw na Managat (Visayan Snapper), Oysters, Scallops and other authentic Ilonggo dishes that complement its now world famous Lapaz Batchoy and Chicken Inasal.
