Globe Telecom to hire 400 new employees to beef up talent pool

MANILA, Philippines - Ayala-controlled Globe Telecom plans to hire up to 400 new employees beginning October this year until 2011 as part of its strategy to beef up the talent pool that will help drive business.

The Globe Job Fair will kick off today (Sept. 28) at the Banahaw Ballroom of the Legend Villas in Mandaluyong City. Two other job fairs are slated next month for Central and Southern Luzon. The job fairs will help fill the manpower requirements of Globe, which currently operates 133 stores across the country.

“We want to attract more talent who are passionate about our brand and the Globe quality of service. We are giving fresh talents a unique opportunity to be with one of the country’s leading telecommunication companies. With the Globe Job Fair, applicants will be screened and processed in one day. They will be given the opportunity to know more about Globe as a high performing organization and learn from Globe employees especially those in the frontlines through testimonials,” Globe Human Resources Group head Renato Jiao said.

The company earlier disclosed its plan to transform its business centers into more customer-centric and service-oriented stores over the next three years following the opening of its flagship store last June 2010. With the flagship store now operational, Globe has unveiled plans to roll out the new store concept and design across its 133-stores network nationwide to give customers a differentiated retail experience.

“Working for our stores will give new talents a holistic training in sales, marketing and customer service. Our approach to retail business has been redefined and this will provide a solid foundation in one’s career in sales and customer service,” Globe Stores head Maridol Ylanan added.

The two-day job fair will also showcase booths which will house some of the latest Globe handset offers and value-added services, audio visual presentation of the Globe Store experience, and the latest Globe sales and marketing campaigns.
