MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom has began construction on its new corporate headquarters at the Bonifacio Global City with a simple ceremonial kick-off led by (above, from left): Ayala Corp. president and COO Fernando Zobel de Ayala, Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu, Taguig City Mayor Laarni Cayetano and Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano.
The Globe Headquarters, to rise on the corner of 32nd and 7th Avenues inside the Bonifacio Global City, stands on a total lot area of 3,094 square meters with 27 floors spreading over 70,000 square meters. Designed with an innovative mix of traditional and modern aesthetics, the new head office will also house the Consumer Village which will showcase the latest offers, innovations and milestones from Globe for its customers and the rest of the community. The building is targeted for completion in 2013.
The new building aims to be Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED)-certified, an internationally-recognized green building certification system verifying that a building was built using strategies on energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, and improved indoor environmental quality.
“Employee morale and productivity is directly impacted by the physical workplace. We made it a point to have the design team consult employees on what would make their office a great environment to work in. This building is also a testament to Globe going green – our commitment to environmental sustainability. For our customers, it is a symbol of the customer-friendly and customer-driven focus that Globe has been integrating into its operations,” said Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu.
Globe has partnered with affiliate Ayala Land, AIDEA Integrated Design, Aromin & Sy, Davis Langdon & Seah, the Meinhardt Group, and I.A. Campbell & Associates for the project.
