ECI Telecom unveils mobile network upgrade solution

MANILA, Philippines - ECI Telecom Philippines has unveiled an end-to-end solution for mobile network upgrades for local telecommunications operators to cope with mobile broadband explosion.

The company launched 1Net Wireless Backhaul Solution, a unified and multi-layer network management system spanning network domains and technologies.

“It allows telecom operators to upgrade their wireless networks to meet increasing demand without changing the entire infrastructure,” ECI Telecom Philippines president Rondell Cruz said.

He said this service provides flexibility to telecom operators in upgrading their networks regardless of platform they use. “This offers a minimal incremental cost in upgrading their network,” Cruz added.

It is applicable to any wireless technology over any medium, whether it be fiber, copper and microwave, he pointed out.

ECI Telecom chief marketing officer Laura Howard said the Philippine market is their largest sales and service center in Asia.

ECI Telecom provides communications infrastructure to telecom firms, cable operators and utilities companies. Its clients include Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., Globe Telecom, Bayan Telecommunications, and Eastern Telecommunications Philippines.

About 30 percent of ECI’s revenues come from mobile operators.

Based in Israel, ECI Telecom delivers communication platforms to carriers and service providers worldwide. It offers scalable broadband access, transport and data networking infrastructure that provides the foundation for the future communications system, including next-generation voice, IPTV, mobility and other business solutions.
