MANILA, Philippines - SM Land, the property arm of Filipino conglomerate SM Investments Corp. (SMIC), recently introduced another world-class development within the 67-hectare Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City with the unveiling of the TwoE-comCenter office building.
Barely two years after OneE-comCenter was operationalized, TwoE-comCenter breaks ground as the second of four E-comCenters to rise in the complex. Estimated for completion in 2011, the P2-billion project will similarly cater to the burgeoning business process outsourcing (BPO) and technology-based industries in the country.
The structure covers a total floor area of 99,600 square meters. It is 15 storeys high, made up of two 11-storey towers that are connected on top and built on a four-level podium that features a reception lobby, commercial and retail areas, spacious indoor parking slots, and a multi-use deck and sky garden. TwoE-comCenter will be further linked via bridgeways to OneE-comCenter and to the Mall of Asia. This modern and iconic architectural design was conceptualized by Miami-based firm Arquitectonica.
The building’s modern and adaptive design, features, and functionality aim to provide future tenants and office workers the distinct, holistic work environment envisioned to grow in the Mall of Asia Complex as the business and entertainment hub of the future. TwoE-comCenter is strategically located near famous landmarks of the complex such as the SM Mall of Asia, the fourth largest mall in the world; SMX Convention Center, the country’s largest exposition and trade center; and San Miguel by the Bay, an outdoor strip of choice restaurants.
Soon, the Mall of Asia Complex will also be home to the Radisson Hotel Manila Bay, Microtel Inns & Suites, a gaming and entertainment center, and a ferry terminal which will primarily serve as a transport route from the complex to Hamilo Coast, SM Land’s premier leisure residential development in Nasugbu, Batangas. As TwoE-comCenter project head and SMIC executive vice president Jess Lucas shared during the groundbreaking ceremony, the complex will be an “entertainment business district within the city that provides complete avenues to live, play, and work.”
Present during the groundbreaking ceremonies were the TwoE-comCenter project team members headed by Lucas, along with project partners such as Arquitectonica, FS Lim and Associates, and project manager Design Coordinates Inc. Representatives from the local government of Pasay City were also on hand to lend support and underscore the importance of SM Land’s projects in the Mall of Asia Complex in providing business and commerce stimulus in the area.
