Assist America opens RP office

Assist America Inc. (AAI), a US-based firm engaged in providing assistance to travelers who are unfamiliar with how to get help in cases of medical emergencies, because they are away from home, usually in a foreign country, recently opened its Philippine office in Makati City.

Ron Estrella, AAI country manager, said his firm intervenes quickly and directly when called upon to do so and helps in certain critical situations not covered by insurance firms.

"AAI can provide the assistance needed when no individual nor family, not even large multinational corporations, can instantly mobilize like multilingual medical personnel, specialists and aircraft to take care of emergency cases," Estrella pointed out.

Available to more than 20 million people through their benefit programs, AAI was established to specifically address the unique requirements of the insurance industry, particularly when hundreds of thousands of insured persons are covered in groups.

Estrella explained that AAI covers employees, association members and dependents insured by its clients while they are on vacation or personal trips which are outside the moral or legal responsibility of the employers.

"AAI coverage includes all personal, vacation and business travels," he added.

Through its network of affiliates, AAI has operational capabilities around the world with multilingual personnel, including doctors on round-the-clock calls for consultation and assistance.
