Carat Phils names new president

Having pioneered the media specialist business in the Philippines four years ago, Carat has announced plans to take their Philippine operations to the next level.

Jocelyn F. Domingo has assumed the position of president, Carat Philippines from Rene Diaz, the founder and pioneer, who has decided to take early retirement but will continue in an advisory capacity with the company.

Domingo is a well-known and respected personality on the regional media scene with extensive regional advertising and media sales experience. She has worked with some of the leading international advertising agencies and publishing companies in the past in Hong Kong, Philippines, New York, and most recently, Singapore. Her last stint was with Asiaweek Magazine as VP, advertising sales.

In line with its worldwide mission of being the best media specialist in every country, Carat Asia Pacific is taking this opportunity to thoroughly beef up its Philippine operations to better position itself and efficiently serve its growing list of clients.

Diaz founded Carat Philippines four years ago and has since successfully grown its stable of accounts to include consumer products, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and retail clients.

Kim Walker, regional director Asia Pacific with responsibility for the market, said "Carat Philippines is now ready to move to the next level of growth in the Philippines, and it is for this reason that we are making these changes. Carat Asia Pacific has grown significantly by 46 percent overall the past year against a difficult economic backdrop regionally, and we would like to see the Philippines leverage on this strength as we move forward in 2003 and beyond."

Carat is part of Aegis Group PLC, the world’s largest independent media and marketing research group, and is sister company to Synovate (formerly known as AMT).
