RLC officials said this milestone event will bring the Robinsons mall chain further to the provinces, with one opening in Sta. Rosa, Laguna and the other in Cagayan de Oro RLCs first major mall venture in northern Mindanao.
The two-level Robinsons Big R Supercenter in Cagayan de Oro, anchored by the mass merchandise hypermart, will be the first of its kind retail format to open in Mindanao and will be followed by other new concepts, expected to bring in a new shopping dimension to the lifestyle of Cagayan de Oros residents.
"Locals can expect a fresh malling experience in a safe and convenient shopping environment where quality yet affordable goods are available," RLC officials said.
The 12th shopping mall, Robinson Sta. Rosa, is also positioned as the only full-service shopping mall in Laguna and will be bannered by three major retail outlets: the Big R Supercenter, Robinsons Department Store, and Handyman Do-It-Best Hardware and service center.
"With its central location, Robinsons Sta. Rosa will be servicing a catchment area composed of middle-class and well-developed residential subdivisions, a technopark which is host to 80 major global and local manufacturers, and schools and universities," the officials added.
The Robinsons chain has four shopping centers in the Metro Manila areas: The flagship Robinsons Galleria in Mandaluyong; Robinsons Place-Manila, Robinsons Place-Novaliches; and Robinsons Metro East in Pasig. Another Robinsons mall in Mandaluyong, at the corner of EDSA and Shaw Blvd., is undergoing redevelopment and renovation.
The company also has a strategic presence in key provincial sites in Luzon and the Visayas: Robinsons Place-Imus; Robinsons Town Mall-Los Baños; Robinsons Starmills in San Fernando, Pampanga; Robinsons Place-Bacolod; Robinsons Place-Cebu; and Robinsons Place-Iloilo.
By next year, RLC officials said two new malls will be added to this provincial chain: one in Lipa, Batangas and the other in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
