Mitsubishi steps up marketing for synthetic motor oil

To complement its automobile manufacturing operations, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) is stepping up its marketing program for its synthetic motor oil, Mitsubishi Turbo XP.

The Mitsubishi Turbo XP is a synthetic motor oil specially produced by Amalie Oil Co. for Mitsubishi.

With its Turbo XP, Mitsubishi is hoping to become a key player in the synthetic motor oil business.

To help market the Turbo XP, Mitsubishi is tapping Carworld Inc., one of the largest vehicle dealers in Central Luzon.

Mitsubishi is banking on Carworld to promote and sell the Turbo XP outside of Metro Manila, primarily in the provinces of Bulacan, Pampanga and Tarlac.

The Turbo XP, according to MMPC, was formulated specifically for Philippine weather conditions.

It would complement MMPC’s automobile lines – Mitsubishi Lancer and Galant – as well as its Asian utility vehicle adventure, its pick-up line Strada, as well as its sports utility vehicle, the Pajero.

Mitsubishi is currently ranked by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) as No. 2 in terms of overall vehicle sales.

The Mitsubishi Turbo XP carries the same high grade for motor oil for gasoline engines as rated by the American Petroleum Institute.

Amalie, which is represented in the Philippines by its local licensee, Pro Oil Corp., is supposed to produce at least 6.6 million gallons annually of the Turbo XP by next year.
