"Kumbati sa Kapitolyo" karong adlawa

CEBU, Philippines — Andam na ang tanan alang sa “Kumbati sa Kapitolyo” boxing card karong adlawa  (Biyernes, Septiyembre 4) diha sa hawanan sa Kapitolyo sa probinsiya sa Sugbo.

Gipasugdahan sa Cebu Provincial Sports Commission (CPSC) uban sa hugtanong suporta ni Gobernador Pam Baricuatro, ang puno sa aksiyon nga pasundayag naglangkob og unom ka propesyonal nga mga away ug 25 ka amateur bouts.

Si CPSC Chairman Dr. Rhoel Dejano nagkanayon nga ang maong kalihokan ideya mismo ni Baricuatro aron matumbok ug mapalambo ang mga batan-ong talento sa boksing sa probinsiya.

“This event was conceptualized by Governor Pam Baricuatro because she wanted us to identify boxing talents from the province. Medyo na-overshadow ang boxing diri sa Cebu with other sports. We don’t have notable world champions from Cebu right now,” matud pa ni CPSC Chairman Dr. Rhoel Dejano.

“So the governor said maybe we can revive boxing with our youth in the province because boxing is also one of the sports that is medal-rich,” padayon pa sa inilang sports medicine doctor nga gipasidunggan sa Sportswriters Association of Cebu (SAC) nga Sportsman of the Year niadtong 2024.

“An event like this would be a good base to scout talents. In order for you to produce world champions, you need events like this,” dason pa ni CPSC commissioner Paul Jake Castillo nga nagrepresenta sa pribadong sektor.

“Not only in boxing but in other sports. In an event like this, you can always find talents,” dugang pa ni Castillo. Bukas sa publiko nga libre, ang makalingaw nga binukbokay magsugod sa alas-2 sa hapon.
