Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) yesterday said all 13 passengers of the boat that capsized in Mapanuepe Lake in San Marcelino, Zambales on Thursday have been accounted for, with nine casualties and four survivors.

In a statement, PCG spokesperson Commodore Noemie Cayabyab said the last missing person, a 26-year-old woman, was confirmed as the ninth casualty after search and rescue teams found her body yesterday morning.

Cayabyab said the teams found her body in Sitio Naban in Barangay Buhawen, about 1,100 meters from where the motorized boat sank.

The boat passengers, all indigenous people, were on their way back to their homes after participating in a vaccination activity at a health center in nearby Barangay Buhawen on Aug. 27.
