Cops probing 2 bullying incidents in Baguio schools
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Two bullying cases involving high school students in this city are being investigated by police after videos of the incidents went viral on social media.
The Baguio City police said the first case involved Grade 9 and 10 students, aged 16 to 17, who were tagged in an incident that occurred in Barangay Pinsao Proper on Wednesday afternoon.
The second case, reported on Thursday, allegedly occurred at the Baguio City National High School, wherein a Grade 7 student suffered injuries after he was attacked by three Grade 9 students.
The students and their parents or guardians were called to a school-facilitated dialogue participated in by police officers.
The Alliance of Concerned Teachers-Cordillera Union denounced the incidents and demanded stronger actions against bullying.
The group said these incidents should not be treated as isolated cases.
The Department of Education said it would investigate the incidents.
