PLM confers honorary Doctor of Laws on Marcos Jr.

MANILA, Philippines —  The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) conferred yesterday an honorary Doctor of Laws degree on President Marcos.

The event coincided with the PLM’s 58th commencement exercises.

According to a resolution by the PLM Board of Regents, President Marcos “has demonstrated exemplary leadership in advancing national development, upholding the rule of law, promoting social equity and fostering educational opportunities for the youth.”

The university also recognized Marcos’ programs and projects to advance education and public health in Manila, citing the construction of the PLM Allied Health Services Building.

Marcos said he was humbled by the recognition.

“I receive this honor with gratitude, mindful of the responsibility that comes with it,” he said.
