MANILA, Philippines — A Grade 12 student was arrested yesterday after he was implicated in the killing of a 16-year-old boy in Quezon City on Thursday night.

The suspect was among the four people who allegedly killed the victim, a Grade 11 student, in a stabbing incident in Barangay Pasong Putik Proper.

The stabbing occurred along Quirino Highway at 9 p.m., police said.

An investigation showed the victim and his classmate were playing at a billiards hall when the Grade 12 student and another suspect, identified only as Cypher, challenged them to a fistfight.

The student, along with Cypher and two other suspects ganged up on the victim and his companion.

The victim fell to the ground after one of the suspects stabbed him multiple times with a bladed weapon. He was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.

Police arrested the Grade 12 student in a follow-up operation at his residence in Barangay Greater Lagro at 3 a.m. yesterday.

During interrogation, he pointed to Cypher as the person who stabbed the victim.

A manhunt is underway for Cypher and the other suspects.
