Grade 1 Pinoy student aces international English competition
MANILA, Philippines — A Grade 1 Filipino student has aced the Macau international English competition by garnering a perfect score in the 13-nation event.
Renvin Michael Bernardo, who studies at BHC Educational Institution in San Fernando City in La Union, is part of the 20-member Mathematics Trainers’ Guild Phils. team that competed in Macau.
Aside from topping the English competition, Bernardo won gold and silver medals in Science and Math Cube categories, respectively.
Bernardo’s teammates in English – Gavin Chad Go, Williane Kelsey Chiong and Cyrus Carl Manarang of the Zamboanga Chong Hua High School in Zamboanga City – also took home gold medals.
His teammates in Science – Gavin Chad Go, Cyrus Carl Manarang and Cyris Chad Manarang – garnered the gold medals.
The International Cube Challenges was organized by the Macau Cultural and Creative Integrated Services and held at Hotel Royal.
The Philippines was named overall champion.
Other delegates came from Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Myanmar, Azerbaijan, Jordan, Vietnam, Hong Kong and host Macau.
