MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency yesterday released P9.66 million in cash rewards to 18 PDEA informants whose tips led to major drug busts across the country.

In a ceremony at the PDEA headquarters in Quezon City, six informants personally received their cash incentives.

The remaining recipients were awarded by the PDEA regional offices.

PDEA chief Isagani Nerez said the informants played a key role in 23 anti-narcotics operations, which resulted in the dismantling of drug networks, seizure of illegal drugs and the arrest of high-value suspects.

Two informants received P2 million each for information that led to major drug seizures.
