MANILA, Philippines — Choco Mucho coach Dante Alinsunurin is hoping that his setter, Tia Andaya, would return next year.

Andaya quashed that anticipation after bidding goodbye to the Flying Titans and thanked the franchise on her Instagram post Thursday.

“It truly was an unforgettable journey,” said the former stalwart for Gonzaga and Central Washington,  where she played both outside hitter and setter positions.

It wasn’t an easy journey though for Andaya as she couldn’t find opportunities with both Choco Mucho and Alas Pilipinas during her brief stint.

She had no regrets though coming to the country.

“The road wasn’t always smooth, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. It was an honor to play both with and for you all,” she said.

Andaya’s departure, along with veteran setter Jem Ferrer’s retirement, left the team with a massive hole to fill.

But the Flying Titans hope to plug it by with the acquisitions of Tin Ubaldo from the rookie draft and battle-scarred Ivy Perez from free agency. They join Deanna Wong and Alina Bicar in the position.

Last month, Alisunurin revealed Andaya would return next year after the latter quietly flew to the United States.

She, however, isn’t returning after all.
