Jaja Santiago to play in US volleyball league

MANILA, Philippines -- Jaja Santiago is taking her talents to the United States.
Santiago, whose Japanese name is Sachi Minowa, has signed with the League One Volleyball (LOVB) in America, the league announced Thursday.
“Adding a new country to our list: the Philippines! Welcome, Sachi “Jaja” Minowa!!” the LOVB posted on Instagram.
“Jaja is a talented middle blocker who is a Japanese SV.League Champion with multiple Best spiker and Best blocker awards! Welcome, Jaja!”
The 30-year-old middle blocker last played in the Philippines back in 2021, when she led Chery Tiggo to the title.
But she has seen action in Japan, playing for the Saitama Ageo Medics and Osaka Marvelous, before she suited up for the Denso Airybees for the 2025-26 season.
And now, she will bring her experience to America.
“It’s finally out, and I’m beyond excited to announce that I’m joining LOVB!” Santiago posted on her Instagram story.
“Grateful for the privilege and can’t wait to evolve alongside world-class players. See you in the US!”
