CEBU, Philippines — The Mandaue City government conducted its first One-Stop Serbisyo Caravan in Barangay Opao, bringing various government services closer to residents.

The caravan gathered frontline offices from the City Hall and several national government agencies in a one-day outreach activity on June 20, aimed at providing public services at the barangay level.

Mayor Thadeo Jovito Ouano thanked the participating city offices and national government agencies for joining the caravan, saying the initiative would help residents who have difficulty traveling to City Hall and other government offices to avail themselves of public services.

“Ato gyud ning gibuhat pagpaduol sa gobyerno diri sa katawhan—more accessible, more responsive, ug pinaka importante mas convenient para ninyo. Dili namo muadto aning tagsa-tagsa ka mga opisina kay sila na gyud ang niari sa barangay,” Ouano said.

Among the services offered were free medical consultations and medicines through the City Health Office and City Nutrition Office, Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) registration, distribution of seedlings and plants by the City Agriculture Office, free anti-rabies vaccination for cats and dogs from the City Veterinary Office, legal consultations from the City Legal Office, and free haircut and massage services from Mandaue City College Technological Entrepreneurial Skills Training Center.

The Public Employment Services Office also accepted job applications, while the City Cooperative Office distributed products under its livelihood program. The Local Civil Registrar attended to concerns involving birth certificates and late registration.

Other participating offices included the Business Permit and Licensing Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Mandaue City Police Office, and the Public Information Office, as well as Barangay Opao officials.

National government agencies that joined the caravan included PhilPost, PAG-IBIG Fund, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp., the Social Security System, the National Bureau of Investigation, and the Philippine Statistics Authority.

Also present during the activity were Congresswoman Emmarie Ouano-Dizon, councilors Joel Seno, Fritz Villamor, Eugene Andaya, Anjong Icalina, and Kevin Cabahug, Barangay Opao Captain Nixon Jojo Dizon, and Liga ng mga Barangay President Dante Borbajo.

The city government said the next One-Stop Serbisyo Caravan is scheduled on June 27 in Barangay Banilad.
