MANILA, Philippines -- Eman Bacosa’s first conquest for a title came up short, as he lost via majority decision to Rodelyn Perez at the DRT Sports Complex in Muntinlupa City Sunday.

Bacosa was floored thrice in the match – once in the second round and twice in the third – en route to a majority decision loss as Perez wrested the Philippine Boxing Federation lightweight championship.

Perez thus had his revenge against the son of Manny Pacquiao, to whom he lost via majority decision back in 2024.

Perez came out swinging in the second round, hitting a flurry of punches as he decked Bacosa.

In the third round, Perez unleashed a barrage of punches to knock Bacosa down anew. A few moments later, Bacosa was again sent to the canvas with a left, although he argued it was a slip.

Bacosa was able to bounce back in the final rounds, but it was not enough , with two judges calling the match 75-74 and 76-73 both in favor of Perez. One had it 75-75.

Bacosa dropped to an 8-2-1 win-loss-draw record, while Perez rose to 5-4.
