Chavit Singson nabbed in Quezon City over cyberlibel charge
MANILA, Philippines (Updated 6:40 p.m.) — Former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson was arrested in Quezon City on Thursday, June 11, on a cyberlibel charge, according to a police spot report obtained by Philstar.com.
The report said Singson, 84, was arrested at his residence in Quezon City on a warrant issued by the Vigan City Regional Trial Court Branch 21.
"The accused is now under the custody of PS 12 for documentation and proper disposition," the spot report read.
Singson posted bail amounting to P60,000 and was released on the same day, police said.
