Belmonte urges LGUs: Mount local Pride March

MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has urged other local government units to mount their own Pride March in support of members of the LGBTQ community.

With Quezon City on its fifth year of holding a Pride March, Belmonte said the fight for gender equality is present nationwide.

“Everybody wins in a fully equal society. If someone is left out, we will experience inequality,” Belmonte said.

More people are bringing their families and friends to Pride Marches, Pride PH convenor Vince Liban said.
