5 nabbed over student’s hazing death

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines —  Five former members of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity have been arrested in connection with the hazing death of a freshman maritime student in General Trias, Cavite three months ago.

The arrest of the suspects identified only as Archie, Dario, John, Johnlee and Kenneth was based on a warrant issued by Judge Francisco Victor Collado Jr. of the Cavite Regional Trial Court Branch 90.

No bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the suspects, who were arrested by members of the General Trias police in Barangay Navarro on Wednesday.

The accused are facing charges for the death of Mark Kenneth Alcedo during a hazing rite in March, according to Col. Ariel Red, Cavite police director.
