CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — Another fish kill incidents have been recorded in the towns of Baroy and Tubod in Lanao del Norte, according to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.

The BFAR- Northern Mindanao attributed the fish kill to harmful algal blooms or red tide.

Edward Yasay, BFAR regional director, said a red tide warning has been issued in affected communities after authorities noted discoloration in their coastal waters.

The BFAR said the presence of fish cages in affected coastal areas may have contributed to the fish kill.

The public has been told not to consume dead fish collected from affected waters.
