China tinutukan ng radar barko ng Philippine Navy
MANILA, Philippines — Naalarma ang Philippine Navy (PN) sa ginawang pagtutok ng fire control radar ng barko ng People’s Liberation Army Navy sa BRP Miguel Malvar na nagpapatrulya sa loob ng exclusive economic zone (EEZ) ng Pilipinas sa West Philippine sea, malapit sa Sabina Shoal noong Marso 7, na itinuturing na isang “provocative”.
Sa Facebook post ng PN, nitong Marso 20, 2026, agad na naglabas ng radio challenge ang BRP Miguel Malvar kaya itinago na ang radar na itinutok ng PLA vessel bow 622, na diumano’y nagsasanay lang sa fire control radar na nagpababa ng tensyon.
“This was an alarming and provocative action that created unnecessary risk and could have led to misinterpretation and misunderstanding at sea,” ayon sa PN.
Nabatid na ang fire control radar ay nagbibigay ng tumpak na targeting data para sa mga armas.
“The incident underscores the importance of restraint and adherence to international law. The Philippine Navy remains committed to lawful patrols, the protection of sovereign rights, and the peaceful, rules-based resolution of disputes in the West Philippine Sea,” ayon pa sa PN.
Wala pang pahayag ang Chinese Embassy kaugnay sa nasabing insidente.
