Baste hinamon: Unahin drug testing sa Davao

MANILA, Philippines — Hinamon ng mga miyembro ng Kamara si acting Davao City ­Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte na unahin ang kanyang lungsod sa hamon nitong mandatory hair follicle drug testing sa lahat ng halal na opisyal, matapos magpositibo sa drug test ang 37 ­empleyado ng pamahalaang lokal ng Davao noong nakalipas na taon.

“Kung talagang seryoso si Mayor Baste sa laban kontra droga, unahin niya ang Davao. Sa ilalim ng kanyang pamamahala, 37 na ang nahuling gumagamit ng ipinagbabawal na gamot. Imbes na maghamon sa iba, ayusin mo muna ang sarili mong bakuran,” punto ni Zambales 1st District Rep. Jay Khonghun.

Ginawa ni Khonghun ang hamon kay Baste matapos itong maglatag ng kondisyon kay PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III na lalaban lamang siya rito ng suntukan kung magpapa-hair follicle drug test si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Kinumpirma rin ng Davao City Anti-Drug Abuse Council na 37 tauhan mula sa Public Safety and Security Office ng lungsod ang nagpositibo sa isinagawang random drug testing.

“You want to talk about accountability? Then lead by example. Drug testing should begin in Davao City, and the results should be made public. That includes the mayor himself,” ayon naman kay Manila Rep. Joel Chua.
