MANILA, Philippines — Sinampahan ng anti-graft and corruption practice complaint ni dating Caloocan Congressman Edgar Erice si Commission on Election (Comelec) Chairman George Garcia at pito pang miyembro ng Bids and Awards Committee sa Office of the Ombudsman hinggil sa P18 bilyon kontrata sa Miru Systems, kahapon ng umaga.

Bukod kay Garcia kasama rin sa kaso sina Atty. Allen Francis Abaya, Director 1V ng Comelec Electoral Contest and Adjudication Department;  Atty. John Rex Laudiangco at Atty. Divina Blas-Perez at Atty. Abigail Claire Llacuna, pawang mga Director IV ng Comelec Education and Information Department; Atty. Jovencio Balanquit, Assistant Regional Director-NCR; Dir. Celia Romero, Director IV ng Comelec Elections Records and Statistics Department at Atty.  Efraim Bag-id, Hepe ng Comelec Political Affairs and Finance Department.

Itinanggi ni Erice na ang kanyang hakbang ay bahagi ng isang “demolition job,” at aniya ay nais lamang niyang kuwestiyunin ng legalidad ng P18 bilyong kontrata sa Supreme Court (SC).

Abril nang hinilingin ni Erice sa SC na ideklarang “null and void” ang kontrata sa pagitan ng Comelec at Miru.

Naghain din ang dating mambabatas noong Hul­yo ng mosyon na humihi­ling sa SC na i-contempt si Garcia sa diumano’y paglabag sa sub judice rule sa petisyon nang sabihin nitong ang Comelec ay maaaring gumamit ng manu-manong halalan sa 2025 sakaling maglabas ang SC ng desis­yon laban sa mga sistema ng Miru.
