Sa pagkuha ng LTOPF

MANILA, Philippines — Exempted na sa drug tests, psychological at psychia­tric examinations ang mga aktibong miyembro ng PNP at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na kukuha ng license to own and possess firearms (LTOPF).

Inihayag ito ni Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil na bahagi anya ng ilang pagbabago sa sistema sa pagkuha at renewal ng gun license ng mga pulis at sundalo.

Ani Marbil, ang mga pulis at sundalo ay sinanay upang maging responsableng firearm holders. “All active military and police personnel are no longer required to undergo DT (drug test) and PPE (psychological and psychiatric examinations) since they are already trained as responsible firearm holders,” nakasaad din sa memorandum.

Kailangan na lamang iprisinta ng mga pulis at sundalo ang kanilang government ID para sa pagpoproseso ng kanilang mga baril.

Nilinaw naman ni Marbil na hindi sakop ng bagong polisiya ang iba pang law enforcement agencies tulad ng National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency at Philippine Coast Guard,

“Hindi kasama ‘yung ibang law enforcement agencies. This applies to PNP and AFP only,” ani Civil Security Group (CSG) spokesperson Lt. Col Eudisan Gultiano.

Binigyan diin ni Gultiano, regular na sumasailalim sa drug test at psychiatric examinations ang mga pulis sa pag-a-apply ng kanilang promotion.

Bukod dito, mananatili ring requirement sa mga sibilyan ang drug test at neuro-psychiatric evaluation para sa renewal ng lisensiya.
