Mayor Guo tatalupan ng BIR sa posibleng tax evasion
MANILA, Philippines — Ipinag-utos ni BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui ang malalimang imbestigasyon sa yaman at mga ari-arian ni suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo at mga kumpanya nito para sa posibleng tax evasion.
Inutos din ni Lumagui na busisiin ang pangalan at entities na nababanggit sa pagdinig ng Senado kaugnay ng Guo issue.
Binigyang diin ni Lumagui na kapag napatunayan ng BIR na may tax evasion dito, magsasagawa sila ng enforcement activities kabilang na ang pagsasampa ng kasong tax evasion laban sa suspended mayor.
“I have commanded the whole BIR to cooperate with the Senate and look into the mentioned names of individuals and entities as well as their accumulated wealth. The BIR will fully cooperate with the senate investigation on Mayor Guo. The BIR will also conduct its own investigation against the said individuals and entities. Due process will be followed. If the income declared with the BIR does not match the value of the properties amassed during the same taxable years, criminal cases for tax evasion will be filed. The same charges can be filed against conspirators and the corporate officers of the companies used to amass such wealth,” sabi ni Commissioner Lumagui.
Ang BIR ay nakamonitor sa patuloy na pagbusisi ng Senado sa kaso ni Mayor Guo.
Nilinaw ni Lumagui na ang cash, properties at iba pang pinagkukunan ng yaman na nadiskubre sa pagdinig sa Senado ay kailangang ipagbayad ng buwis.
Bukas din anya ang BIR sa lahat ng informants mula sa private sector o government agencies na magbibigay ng kaukulang dokumento at mga ebedensiya sa auditing kay Mayor Guo at mga naiulat na kumpanya.
