Singil ng Meralco tataas ngayong Nobyembre dahil sa 'transmission charges'
MANILA, Philippines — Inanunsyo ng Manila Electric Company ang dagdag P0.2347 kada kilowatter hour (kWh) sa presyo ng kuryente para sa buwan ng Nobyembre — dahilan para lumobo patungong P12.0545 ang kada kWh na singil para sa karaniwang pamilya.
Ibinahagi ito ng Meralco ngayong Huwebes, bagay na tanda ng pagtaas ng singil mula sa P11.8198 per kWh para sa karaniwang household nitong Oktubre.
"For residential customers consuming 200 kWh, the adjustment is equivalent to an increase of around P47 in their total electricity bill," wika ng power distributor ngayong araw.
"Driving this month’s overall rate increase is the uptick in the transmission charge, which went up by P0.1211 per kWh for residential customers due to higher ancillary service charges."
Aniya, halos apat na beses daw kasi ang itinaas ng regulating reserves ng National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) mula 23.17 per kW patungong P91.35 per kW. Ito ang bumubuo sa 76.5% ng total ancillary service hcarges.
Tumaas din ang generation charge para sa buwan ng Nobyembre ng P0.0671 dahil sa mas mataas na singil mula sa Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) at Independent Power Producers (IPPs).
Sinasabing tumaas ang WESM charges dahil sa "tight supply conditions" ng Luzon grid, habang napamahal din ang IPP charges dahil diumano sa mas mababang IPP dispatch at pagtaas ng presyo ng Malampaya natural gas.
"Pass-through charges for generation and transmission are paid by Meralco to the power suppliers and the grid operator, respectively, while taxes, universal charges, and FIT-All are all remitted to the government," patuloy ng Meralco.
"Meralco’s distribution charge, meanwhile, has not moved since the P0.0360 per kWh reduction for a typical residential customer beginning August 2022."

Pinayuhan naman ng power distributor ang consumers na maging mas wais sa paggamit ng kuryente upang makontrol ang kanilang konsumo.

- pagtanggal sa saksakan ng mga hindi ginagamit na appliances
- palagiang paglilinis ng air conditioner filters
- paggamit ng LED bulbs
