Kasong kriminal vs 9 pulis, giit ng AFP

MANILA, Philippines — Hindi sapat ang ‘dismissal’ lang sa 9 pulis na sangkot sa pamamaril at pagpatay sa apat na Army intelligence officers sa Jolo, Sulu noong Hunyo ng nakaraang taon.

Ayon kay AFP Spokesman Major Gen. Edgard Arevalo na bagaman ikinokonsiderang ‘welcome development’ ng AFP ang pagsibak ni PNP Chief P/Gen. Debold Sinas sa siyam sa 12 akusadong pulis ay dapat pa rin isalang ang mga ito sa paglilitis sa kasong kriminal upang mabigyang hustisya ang naulilang pamilya ng mga biktima.

“We understand, however, that the policemen’s separation from the service is an administrative penalty. We are one with the families of our slain soldiers in their quest for the filing of criminal charges against the said members of Jolo Police,“ pahayag ni Arevalo.

Kabilang sa nasawing intel officers sina Major Marvin Indamog, Captain Irwin Managuelod at dalawang iba pa.

Tinanggal na sa kustodiya ng PNP ang 9 pulis habang hinihintay ang warrant of arrest mula sa korte.

“With the dismissal from service of the nine respondent PNP personnel, we can no longer hold them beyond the maximum allowable period that is why we sought the immediate action of DOJ to file the appropriate criminal case with the corresponding warrant of arrest,” sabi pa ni Sinas.

Sinabi ni Sinas na wala nang hurisdiksiyon ang PNP sa mga dating pulis kaya ito pinakawalan.
