Sabi ni Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno na malaki ang tiyansa na magtagumpay ang reklamong impeachment na inihain laban sa kanya katulad ng nangyari sa sinundan niyang chief justice.

MANILA, Philippines — Naniniwala si Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno na mataas ang posibilidad na mapatalsik siya sa kanyang puwesto.

Sa panayam ng “The Bottomline,” sinabi ni Sereno nitong Biyernes na malaki ang tiyansa na magtagumpay ang reklamong impeachment na inihain laban sa kanya katulad ng nangyari sa sinundan niyang chief justice.

“I've already said this in a public interview, I think the probability is quite high that they will proceed, as I think, as originally planned,” wika ni Sereno.

“I think we can already take the cue from the statements made by the members of the House Committee on Justice, and from the leadership of the House, and from some of the supporters of the impeachment complaint,” dagdag niya.

Nasipa ang yumaong si Renato Corono mula sa pagiging punong mahistrado noong 2012 dahil sa hindi pagdedeklara ng kanyang mga yaman.

Humaharap naman ngayon si Sereno sa parehong reklamong inihain ni Atty. Larry Gadon hinggil sa umano’y hindi pagdedeklara ni Sereno ng kanyang mga ari-arian at sa sinasabing kanyang maluhong pamumuhay.

Kung sakaling maimpeach si Sereno ng Kamara, sasailalim siya sa paglilitis ng Senado na siyang uupong impeachment court.

Muli naman pinabulaanan ni Sereno ang mga paratang at nanindigan na wala siyang ginagawang mali.

“I think you shouldn't believe because they are not true,” pagbibigay-diin niya.
