Floirendo nagpiyansa ng P30K
MANILA, Philippines — Pansamantalang nakalaya si Davao del Norte 2nd District Rep. Antonio Floirendo Jr. matapos magpiyansa ng P30,000 kaugnay ng umano’y maanomalyang government deal.
Personal na humarap si Floirendo kay Davao City Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Emmanuel Carpio bandang alas-4 ng hapon kahapon.
Inilabas ng Sandiganbayan kahapon ng umaga ang arrest warrant laban sa kongresista, kung saan inatasan ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) at Davao del Norte Provincial Police Office na dalhin sa korte si Floirendo.
Bukod dito ay naglabas din ng hold departure order ang Sixth Division ng anti-graft court.
BASAHIN: Davao solon ipinapaaresto
Nilabag umano ni Floirendo ang Section 3 (h) ng Republic Act 3019 o ang Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act na isinampa ng Office of the Ombudsman base sa reklamo ni House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
Nag-ugat ang kaso sa pagiging board member ni Floirendo sa Tagum Agricultural Development Co. Inc. na may joint venture agreement sa Bureau of Corrections.
Iginiit naman ni Floirendo na wala siyang kasalanan, habang binatikos niya si Alvarez dahil sa pamemersonal.
“It is a clear sign of the existence of abuse of power and arrogance on the part of the Speaker…I would like to point out that this transgression on the part of the Speaker is not only political but a veiled attempt at grabbing the deal for his business and personal interest,” sabi ng kongresista.
“Despite such setback, I maintain my faith in our justice system because I have not done anything wrong. In the end, I am confident that I will prevail because the truth is on my side.”
