NP-NPC merger ‘di totoo - Villar

MANILA, Philippines - Ikinagulat ni Senadora Cynthia Villar ang balitang may nabuo ng alyansa sa gitna ng kanyang partidong Nacionalista Party at Nationalist People’s Coalition para suportahan ang sinasabing pagtakbo nina Sen. Grace Poe at Sen. Chiz Escudero sa 2016. Lumutang ang balita sa isang press conference ni Rep. Giorgidi Aggabao na sinabing buo na ang alyansa ng NP at NPC.

“I do not know what is the basis of Nationalist People’s Coalition President Giorgidi Aggabao for claiming that NPC and the Nacionalista Party are forming an alliance to support the candidacy of Sen. Grace Poe as president and Sen. Francis Escudero as vice president,” bungad ni Villar sa isang statement na inilabas ng kanyang opisina.

Inamin ni Villar na pati ang kanyang asawa na si NP President at dating Senador Manny Villar ay nagulat sa naging balita. “NP is in the middle of consultation within its ranks, and we have set a September deadline before we can officially announce our participation in the May 2016 polls,” sabi ng senadora.

Mukhang ikinainis ni Senadora Villar ang pakikialam ni Aggabao sa NP. Diniin ni Villar na wala pang plano ang Nacionalista.

“To reiterate, we have to first determine the plans of our own members before we can express support for non-members,” sabi ni Villar. Parehong hindi miyembro ng NP sina Poe at Escudero. 

Pati mga miyembro ng NPC ay nagulat sa deklarasyon ni Aggabao.

Ayon sa isang source na kongresista, walang basbas ng partido ang mga statement ni Aggabao.

“NPC has not made any decisions about 2016. Especially about Chiz. Hindi pa namin nakakalimutan ang ginawa niya nung 2009,” kuwento nito.

Noong 2009 ay kumalas si Escudero sa NPC dahil hindi pumayag ang partidong suportahan ang ambisyon nitong kumandidatong pangulo. 

Kinumpirma naman ito ng isa pang source na nagulat din sa mga lumabas sa press confe­rence ni Aggabao.

“Boss Danding (Cojuangco) has not authorized anyone to speak for the party. We still belong to the administration coalition kaya nakakagulat yung sinabi ni Gigi. It is not the stand of the party,” sabi nito.

Kabilang sa mga miyembro ng NP na inaasahang tatakbo sa mas mataas na posisyon sa 2016 ay sina Sens. Alan Peter Cayetano, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos at Antonio Trillanes IV.
