Ruby Tuason haharap sa Senate probe ng 'pork scam'

MANILA, Philippines – Pumayag ang Department of Justice na magbigay ng salaysay sa Senate Blue Ribbon Committee ang pinakabagong testigo sa pork barrel scam na si Ruby Tuason.

Sinabi ni Justice Secretary Leila de Lima na wala namang dahilan upang hindi magbigay ng salaysay si Tuason sa Senado.

Dagdag ni De Lima na nangako si Tuason na makikipagtulugan sa imbestigasyon ng mga awtoridad.

"[S]he would have no choice because precisely, that is one of her undertakings under the [Witness Protection Program] provisional admission that she binds herself to cooperate and participate in any proper proceedings related to these cases. Kasama po diyan yung Senate Blue Ribbon Committee," banggit ni De Lima.

Bumalik ng bansa si Tuason mula ng San Francisco ngayong Biyernes upang magbigay ng salaysay sa Office of the Ombudsman laban sa mga nasa likod ng pork barrel scam.

Nauna nang sinabi ni Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chair Teofisto Guingona III na iimbitahan nila si Tuason sa kanilang pagdinig sa Pebrero 13.

Samantala, sinabi ng abogado ni Tuason na may mga bagong pangalan ng mambabatas ang idinawit sa pork barrel scam.

"I can confirm that insofar that the Department of Justice is concerned, Mrs. Ruby Tuason's statements corroborated on ... all of its material points," pahayag ng abogadong si Dennis Manalo.

"Insofar as the essential or material personalities are concerned, they are corroborated ... Yes, there will be other names," dagdag niya.
