DTI: BoC gumawa ng rekord sa nasamsam na counterfeit goods
MANILA, Philippines - Dahil sa magandang accomplishment matapos makakumpiska ng mahigit sa isang bilyong pisong mga pekeng produkto sa nakalipas ng 11 buwan simula noong Enero hanggang katapusan ng Nobyembre 2012 ay umani ng papuri ang Bureau of Customs (BoC) sa pamumuno ni Commissioner Ruffy Biazon mula sa Department of Trade and Industry.
Nabatid kay Atty. Ricardo R. Blancaflor, director general ng National Committee on Intellectual Property Rights (NCIPR) ng DTI, umaabot sa P1,100,000,000.00 ang nasamsam na counterfeit goods ng BoC at itinuturing nila ito na pinakamalaking rekord.
“The performance of BoC as of November 30, 2012 is 22.05% of the total confiscation of the NCIPR (P4,988,645,292.00),” sabi ni Blancaflor.
“In this regard, we would like to commend the officials and personnel of the Intellectual Property Unit of the Bureau of Customs (IPU-BOC) for this excellent performance,” dagdag pa ni Blancaflor.
Nabatid pa kay Blancaflor, sa hanay ng law enforcement agencies sa ilalim ng NCIPR, ang BoC sa pamumuno ni Biazon ang may pinakamataas na nasamsam na pirated and counterfeit goods.
“We believe that their performance should merit a distinction from the Bureau,” ayon sa NCIPR Director General.
