Drivers binalaan sa fare discount
MANILA, Philippines – Binalaan ni Ang Kasangga party-list Rep. Ted Haresco ang mga driver, operators ng mga public utility vehicles na tatangging magbigay ng 20% discount sa pasahe sa mga estudyante, senior citizens at mga may kapansanan.
Binanggit ni Rep. Haresco ang isang kautusan ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) sa mga PUVs kabilang ang express service franchises (FXs) at mga bus sa mandato ng 20 percent fare discount sa students, senior citizens, at persons with disabilities (PWDs).
“The 20 percent discount is a big help to students with little allowances and many school expenses, to senior citizens, who have only their small pensions to sustain them, and for persons with disabilities, who have limited earning capability, or may just be relying on dole-outs,” sabi ni Haresco.
Marami sa mga estudyante ay madalas nade-delay ang mga allowances kaya hindi na aniya dapat nakikipagtalo pa ang mga driver sa pagbibigay ng discount.
Hinikayat din ni Haresco ang mga estudyante na igiit ang kanilang karapatan sa fare discount at isumbong ang mga driver na tatanggi.
