MANILA, Philippines - Iginiit kahapon ng Malacañang na maaaring imbestigahan ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ang sinasabing ‘leaked bank documents’ na nagmula umano sa ‘small lady’ na ibinigay kay Mindoro Rep. Reynaldo Umali sa Senado.
Sinabi ni Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, hindi ang Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ang dapat mag-imbestiga dito kundi ang DOJ dahil sa posibleng paglabag sa Bank Secrecy Law.
“If there is an alleged violation of bank secrecy law, the proper venue would be the Department of Justice because that is criminal case,” wika pa ni Usec. Valte.
“Normally, it is initiated by a private complaint especially if there is a private entity that is involved,” wika pa ni Valte.
