Black protest ng court workers vs. budget cut

MANILA, Philippines - Nagsagawa ng black protest ang mga court workers bilang tugon sa budget cut ng mga korte para sa 2012 sa buong bansa.

Ang mga nagsagawa ng protesta ay ang mga empleyado ng Korte Suprema, Court of Appeals, Sandiganbayan, Court of Tax Appeals(CTA) at ang mga lower courts sa Metro Manila laban sa iligal na pagtapyas ng badyet ng hudikatura para sa susunod na taon sa pamamagitan ng pagsusuot ng black arm band.

Mariing tinututulan ng courts employees ang gagawing pagtapyas sa badyet ng hudikatura ng Department of Budget Management(DBM) para sa taong 2012.

“Section 3, Article VIII of the Constitution enshrines fiscal autonomy.The said sections states that the Judiciary shall enjoy fiscal autonomy. Appropriations for the Judiciary may not be reduced by the legislature below the amount appropriated for the previous year and, after approval, shall be automatically and regularly release,”anang mga mi­yembro ng Supreme Court Employees Asso­ciation (SCEA), sa pangunguna ng Pangulo nitong si Jojo Guerrero.

Tiniyak naman ng mga empleyado na sa kabila ng kanilang protesta ay wala namang epekto ito sa kanilang trabaho dahil tuluy-tuloy umano ang kanilang mga trabaho at ang protesta ay gagawin lamang tuwing lunch break at sa flag raising ceremony.

Samantala, nilinaw na­man ni SC Spokesperson at Court Administrator Atty. Jose Midas Marquez na ang sabay-sa­bay na pagkilos ng mga em­­pleyado ng korte sa National Capital Region (NCR), Zambales, Pampanga, Zamboanga at iba pang bahagi ng bansa ay inisyatibo ng mga empleyado at walang ki­nalaman dito ang SC.
