P24.8-M inilaan sa US trip ni PNoy

MANILA, Philippines - Umabot sa P24.8 mil­yon ang inilaan ng gobyerno para sa offi­ cial visit ni Pangulong Benigno Aquino III sa kanyang 5-day working visit sa Estados Unidos.

Si Pangulong Aquino ay umalis na kamakalawa ng gabi para dumalo sa paglulunsad ng Open Government Partnership (OGP) at babalik sa September 23.

Kabilang sa delegas­yon sina Foreign Secretary Albert Del Rosario, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo, Social Welfare Secretary Corazon Soliman, Transportation and Communication Secre­tary Manuel Roxas II, Budget Secre­tary Florencio Abad, Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Secretary Ramon Carandang at Bangko Sentral Governor Amando Tetangco, Jr.

Sinabi ni Executive Sec. Jojo Ochoa, ang pondo ay gagamitin para sa hotel accommodations, food, transportation at telecommunications and equipment requirements.

Ayon kay Ochoa, sulit na gastusan ang biyahe ng Pangulo dahil ang event ay pagkilala ng international community sa commitment ng administrasyon sa anti- corruption programs.

Pagdating sa San Francisco, magpapahi­nga muna ang Pangulo bago didiretso sa New York kung saan gaganapin ang laun­ching ng OGP na pangungunahan nina US President Barack Obama at Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.

Magugunita na P25 milyon din ang ginastos ng gobyerno sa huling biyahe ni Pangulong Aquino patungong China kasama ang mahigit 200 Fil-Chinese businessmen.
